Simply the Best 2020

In 1990, Tina Turner changed the game of Rugby League in Australia, when she showed, for the first time, that it was a game for everyone.

30 years later, rugby league is one of the most inclusive and progressive sports in the country. So, to celebrate how far the game has come, we recreated her iconic campaign to launch the 2020 season.

The Murdoch press argued the campaign featured too much indigenous and female representation, but ultimately the public and broader media showed their support for the message of inclusivity. 1486 seperate pieces of news coverage were generated, valued at over $43M and all first round matches sold out.
