PALAU LEGACY FOUNDATION

The Palau Pledge

The Republic of Palau is an island country in Pacific Ocean. Despite a population of just 20,000 people, it welcomes more than 160,000 visitors a year to its idyllic shores. But, through the careless behaviour of tourists, Palau’s delicately balanced eco-system is eroding fast.

To tackle this problem, we created an education campaign, working with the President and Government to amend Palau’s immigration laws. This included the signing of the world’s first eco-pledge stamped into visitor passports, and a compulsory in-flight video for all inbound tourists.

Produced in conjunction with The Palau Legacy Foundation and the talented people at Yukfoo, The Pool Collective and Song Zu.

A key part of the initiative is making all inbound visitors watch this film before they land.

Upon landing, the stamp and in-passport collateral is made available in multiple languages.
